VSM at Metalloobrabotka
The right solution for all grinding applications
"Many visitors purposely came to us with some very specific challenges. And thanks to our wide product range, we were always able to impress them by finding a precisely tailored solution", reports Alexander Fedoseev, Head of VSM’s Russian representative office. This is because the latest generation of VSM abrasives gives a convincing performance along the entire grinding process chain.
"Super aggressive" ACTIROX impresses
ACTIROX was developed by VSM to tackle rough grinding tasks. This ceramic grain abrasive makes it possible to remove up to 50 percent more material when grinding alloyed steels, stainless steels or carbon steels – and now also when processing non-alloyed steels: The ACTIROX range has recently been expanded with the addition of the AF799 fibre disc, which has been specially developed for all applications involving non-alloyed steel. Metalloobrabotka guests were able to test the effectiveness of ACTIROX for themselves in the grinding cabin at VSM’s stand: "Many visitors to the stand came especially to see our ACTIROX, because other users had recommended this fibre disc to them as being ‘super aggressive’. The visitors were really excited to be able to experience, in person, just how powerfully ACTIROX actually grinds the steel", reports Alexander Fedoseev, with satisfaction.
But VSM’s trade fair exhibition also included something for finish grinding – VSM ILUMERON. The RK700X long-term grinding and polishing abrasive, which is produced with a polyester backing, is available for creating extremely fine and uniform surfaces with excellent technical qualities and very high gloss finishes when grinding plates, sheet metal or tubes, with grit sizes starting at just 180. Furthermore, it allows grinding and polishing to take place in a single processing step, which saves time and money and increases productivity.
Perfect machining of non-ferrous metals
Also on show was the new VSM STEARATE Plus XF733 fibre disc, which greatly simplifies and optimises the grinding of non-ferrous metals and aluminium. STEARATE Plus brings together two VSM technologies in one abrasive: VSM’s tried-and-tested CERAMICS technology and the new STEARATE Plus anti-adhesive additional layer. The clear advantage: The additional layer minimises chip adhesion and thus effectively stops the abrasive from clogging. This means that very high removal rates are achieved even after long-term use, with up to twice the stock removal and twice the service life.
