VSM at GIFA 2019
Visitor magnet: the LED wall
The main focus was on VSM STEARATE Plus and VSM ACTIROX, which was demonstrated in action in the grinding cabin – with live transmission to a large LED wall. "The LED wall was a real visitor magnet and a great trade fair highlight", says René Vogt, Sales Manager Germany, who was delighted with the considerable attention attracted by ACTIROX, VSM’s new showcase abrasive for maximised stock removal. This product incorporates a new type of permanently aligned, geometrically shaped ceramic grain. The grains break down in a defined and controlled manner and allow faster and very aggressive grinding of alloyed and non-alloyed steel, stainless steel and carbon steel workpieces. "A cluster of visitors could often be found gathering in front of the grinding cabin and the LED wall. Many of the trade fair guests could hardly believe how quickly ACTIROX could achieve maximum stock removal", says the VSM Sales Manager. ACTIROX is ideal for removing sprues, for deburring, and for levelling welded seams. A 50 percent increase in stock removal is possible compared to the previous leading ceramic grain abrasive. This allows companies to massively reduce their costs and to process cast parts much more effectively – VSM ACTIROX substantially increases productivity.
Perfect processing of aluminium and non-ferrous metals
VSM also had another innovative product to show at GIFA. This product was specially developed for processing cast parts made of aluminium and non-ferrous metals: VSM STEARATE Plus. It combines the advantages of VSM CERAMICS technology – high abrasion of materials and a long operating life – with the additional anti-adhesive layer, STEARATE Plus. This layer significantly reduces chip adhesion and thus prevents rapid clogging of the abrasive, which is one of the most intractable problems encountered when grinding non-ferrous metals. VSM STEARATE Plus significantly extends the life cycle and ensures excellent stock removal, even after long periods of use. Ideal applications include deburring and the removal of sprues.
International audience impressed
"Our range of high stock removal abrasives offers the right solution for all grinding tasks in cast part processing. At our stand, we were able to impress this upon the numerous and predominantly international visitors, including many end customers from China and India," says René Vogt, summing up the successful GIFA 2019.
